Representatives of the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants' Association (AOTCA) Attend the 6th BRITACOF and Deliver a Keynote Speech

From September 9th to 11th, the 6th Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) was held in Kathmandu, Nepal. 

With the theme of Shared Progress in Taxpayer Service for a Better Business Environment, this forum conducted in-depth discussions around six topics: Tax Administration Product Portfolio, Taxpayer Service Product Portfolio, Tax Rule of Law Governance, Tax Administration Transparency, Tax and Fee Payment Services, and Digital Technology Application.

Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel, Vice President of AOTCA and President of Nepal Chamber of Tax Consultants, and Dr. Wu Xiaoqiang, Chairman of the Technical Committee of AOTCA, attended the forum.

Dr. Wu Xiaoqiang delivered a keynote speech entitled AI Agent for Tax Policy Explanation at the forum. Dr. Wu Xiaoqiang introduced the innovative application of AI technology in tax policy explanation from four perspectives: the role of AI agents, the scenario deconstruction of tax policy explanation, the design of Tax-Policy-Explanation Agent (TPE), and TPE showcase.

Dr. Wu Xiaoqiang has demonstrated two AI intelligent agents on site: one is the New Policy Finder that can automatically capture the latest tax policies, and the other one is the Tax Policy Explanation that can automatically generates authoritative and accurate policy explanation reports. Dr. Wu Xiaoqiang believes that AI agents reflect the designers' thinking patterns and professional wisdom. Before the realization of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), the depth of human application of AI largely depends on their own design and guidance.

The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM) was initiated by STA in April 2019. Up to now, it has 38 members and 30 observers, serving as a multilateral tax cooperation platform with significant influence in the international tax field under the Belt and Road Initiative. Hosted by Inland Revenue Department of Nepal, this forum attracted around 400 participants, including commissioners and deputy commissioners of tax authorities from 45 jurisdictions, as well as representatives and experts from 13 international organizations and nearly 50 multinational enterprises.
