On September 21, 2006, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Tax Consulting” was adopted, which defined the legal status of the tax consulting institution in the Republic.

The Chamber of Tax Consultants of Uzbekistan (hereinafter referred to as the Chamber) was established on July 31, 2009.

On August 4, 2022, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. ZRU-787 “On Tax Consulting Activities” was adopted. This law expanded the rights and guarantees of tax consultants’ activities, defined the types of tax consulting services, and legally established the status of the Chamber, as well as its rights and obligations.

The Chamber is a professional association created on the basis of voluntary membership of tax consultants and tax consulting organizations. Under the Law, it is entrusted with functions related to the development and coordination of activities in the field of tax consulting and maintains the register of tax consultants and tax consulting organizations.

The activities of the Chamber of Tax Consultants are regulated by the Law “On Tax Consulting Activities” and governed by its Charter. Members of the Chamber of Tax Consultants retain independence in carrying out their professional activities. The Chamber may establish territorial and interregional representative offices and/or branches.

Draft regulatory legal acts containing norms and rules regulating relations in the field of tax consulting are subject to coordination with the Chamber of Tax Consultants.
